Mercedes ESL (Steering Lock) Delete Service for the following years / models / series: all 203, C series (W203, S203) with ESL (Steering Lock), 2001-2007 C230, C240, C280, C320, C350, C32, C55. This ESL (Steering Lock) Delete Service will delete the ESL function in the EIS (Ignition Switch)  making it functional without ESL input. The ESL will be Plug n' Drive and will require no additional programming. Old keys will work. Simply install the EIS and start the car.

The ESL (Steering Lock) system was used on some 208 series cars. It often fails, common issues are:

A22449 The electronic ignition lock has a malfunction. There is an internal electrical fault.
A25407 The electric steering lock has a malfunction. There is a mechanical fault.
A25408 The electric steering lock malfunction. There is a signal fault or the message is faulty.
A25409 The electric steering lock has a malfunction. There is a component fault.
A25464 The electric steering lock has a malfunction. There is an implausible signal.
B2254 Column Lock Module Internal.
No communication from the electronic steering lock (ESL).
Steering lock does not release.
The Key will turn in the ignition switch. No key on with push button. No start.

For this service, you will have to send in 3 things:

1. Original ESL (steering lock).

2. Original ESL (Ignition Switch).

3. Original key.

NOTE! Your EIS and key might look different. It doesn't matter.
