Throttle Body Reset / Adaptation Procedure BMW, MINI / Step By Step

Try this procedures if you keep getting throttle body initialization codes, unstable idle and other throttle body related codes.

Procedure 1

1. Turn the key on, DO NOT start the car. Leave the key ON for 90 seconds.
2. Clear the codes.
3. Turn the key OFF and leave it OFF for 90 seconds.
4. Turn the key on again, DO NOT start the car. Leave the key ON for 90 seconds.
5. Start the car.

Procedure 2

1. Turn the key OFF. Wait 90 seconds.
2. Press the accelerator all the way and hold.
3. Turn the key ON. Wait 90 seconds.
4. Turn the key OFF. Release accelerator. Wait 90 seconds.
5. Start the car.
