This, EWS2 and EWS3 delete service will delete the EWS function in the DME making it functional without EWS input. The DME will be Plug n' Drive and will require no additional programming. Old keys will work. Simply install the ECU and start the car.
By EWS2 and EWS3 we mean the immobilizer system type not the hardware. So, this service is aplicable to EWS2, EWS3.2, EWS3.3, EWS3D, EWS4.3 / EWS4.4 in EWS3 mode and CAS1 / CAS2 / CAS3 in EWS3 mode. All BMW cars from 1995 on are equiped with EWS system.
DMEs with EWS2 / EWS3 are: M3.3.1 (silver label), M5.2, M5.2.1, MS41.1, MS41.2, MS42, MS43, ME7.2, MSS52, MSS54, MS54HP, MS45, MS45.0, MS45.1, MS54.1, ME9.2, MSV70, MSS60 (up to 05/2007 only !), EMS2000 and MS5150 (MINI).
For this service, you will have to send in the DME. If you want to by pass the starting function of EWS you will also have to send the immobilizer module (EWS) and key. NOTE! EWS starter function can only be by passed on cars with mechanical ignition switch (key with a blade). On cars with ignition slot or push button you still need a working key to crank the engine.
